Ethical Trading Policy
OUR RESPONSIBILITY
Ethical Trading Policy
How something is made matters just as much as what is made.
We've built our brand on the belief that quality should be honest — and that means respecting the people behind every garment, as well as the world it comes from. Across every country we work in, we hold ourselves and our partners to a clear standard: fairness, dignity, and accountability.
"A fair day's work deserves fair pay."
Freedom of Employment
Work should always be a choice.
Every individual we work with is employed freely and fairly. We do not tolerate forced labour, bonded labour, or any form of involuntary work. People are free to leave their employment with reasonable notice, and no one is ever required to surrender personal documents or deposits to secure a job.
Freedom of Association
Respect is non-negotiable.
All workers have the right to join or form trade unions and to bargain collectively. We expect our partners to foster open, fair dialogue — regardless of whether workers choose to unionize. Where local laws restrict these rights, we require alternative paths for independent representation and communication.
Safe Working Conditions
Safety comes first — always.
We partner only with facilities that provide clean, safe, and hygienic working environments. From proper training to risk prevention, every worker should feel protected on the job. Access to clean water, sanitation, and — where applicable — safe accommodation is essential, not optional.
No Child Labour
Zero tolerance. No exceptions.
Child labour has no place in our supply chain. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy and work only with partners who uphold the same standard.
Fair Wages
Honest work, honest pay.
We expect wages to meet — and wherever possible exceed — local legal standards and industry benchmarks. Compensation should cover basic needs and allow for a degree of financial security. Workers must always understand how they are paid, with clear, transparent wage structures and no unjust deductions.
Working Hours
Balance matters.
Working hours must respect both legal standards and human limits. A standard workweek should not exceed 48 hours, with at least one day of rest every seven days. Overtime must always be voluntary, limited, and fairly compensated — never routine or forced.
No Discrimination
Opportunity should be equal.
We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind — whether based on race, origin, religion, gender, age, disability, orientation, or beliefs. Every worker deserves equal access to opportunity, growth, and respect.
Stable Employment
Stability builds better work.
We believe in long-term relationships — not just with customers, but with the people who make our products. Employment should be regular, structured, and grounded in local labour laws. Temporary or contract work should never be used to avoid responsibility.
There is no room for abuse.
We maintain zero tolerance for any form of harassment, intimidation, or inhumane treatment — physical or verbal. Every workplace we partner with must reflect basic human dignity.
Our Environmental Approach
Good products shouldn't come at the cost of the planet.
We recognize that every step of production — from raw materials to final delivery — has an environmental impact. Our responsibility is to reduce that impact wherever possible, while continuing to improve how we operate.
We take a considered approach to sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics by:
- Evaluating the full lifecycle of our products
- Working with partners who prioritize responsible production methods
- Reducing waste in packaging, storage, and transport
- Choosing materials and processes with lower environmental impact where possible
- Ensuring proper handling and disposal of excess, returned, or damaged goods
- Seeking expert guidance when dealing with chemicals or sensitive materials
- Moving toward more energy-efficient practices across our supply chain
Always Improving
This is not a finish line — it's a standard we continue to raise.
As Rue Saint Patrick grows, so does our responsibility. We are committed to strengthening our practices, building better partnerships, and ensuring that every product we make reflects not just quality — but integrity.
— Rue Saint Patrick
