Rue Saint Patrick — or simply R.S.P. — takes its name from a street that runs alongside Montreal's historic Lachine Canal, beginning in Point Saint-Charles — a neighbourhood shaped by generations of Irish immigrants who helped build the city.

Montreal itself has one of the oldest Irish communities in North America, and is home to one of the continent's longest-running St. Patrick's Day parades, first held in 1824. That heritage of resilience, craftsmanship, and quiet pride is woven into everything we do.

Rue Saint Patrick was founded by Ivan Green, a first-generation Irish immigrant from County Down. His journey began in the garment industry over 40 years ago, starting with companies like Douglas & Grahame before eventually bringing his expertise to Canada. After decades spent mastering production, sourcing, and quality control, Ivan saw an opportunity — not just to create clothing, but to build something lasting with his sons.

With a deep understanding of fabrics and construction, Ivan built Rue Saint Patrick on a belief that quality should never be reserved for the few. It should be accessible, honest, and built to last — without unnecessary markups.
